William Mack CFP®, CFS

As Founder and President of William Mack & Assoc., Inc. (WMA) Bill has made a career out of helping others. A thoughtful listener, Bill helps clients look beyond the numbers and focus on improving the quality of life. Bill was a pioneer in his field over 30 years ago when he created what is now referred to as a “Retainer Service.” As part of this service—in addition to managing investment portfolios—WMA also provides financial planning advice at no additional cost to its Retainer clients.

Bill was also one of the first advisors in Michigan to implement no-load mutual fund portfolio strategies for clients through discount brokerage firms such as Charles Schwab & Co., Fidelity, and TD Ameritrade. He earned his designation as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. Bill is also a Certified Fund Specialist.

As a commitment to the profession, Bill served over 10 years on the Board of Directors for what is currently known as the Financial Planning Association of Michigan, having served terms as both President as well as Chairman of the Board.

Originally born in Cleveland, Ohio, Bill and his wife graduated from The Ohio State University and relocated to Michigan, where their three children were born and raised.

Ted Bugenski CFP®, CFS

Ted Bugenski, CFP®, CFS is a partner, and Vice President of William Mack & Assoc., Inc. (WMA). Ted has worked in the financial planning profession and been a partner at WMA for over 30 years.  Ted is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner, as well as a Certified Fund Specialist. He received his Finance degree from Oakland University as well as a degree in Financial Services from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Ted has served as a faculty member of Oakland University's Personal Financial Planning Certificate Program, and provided editing assistance for the book “Practicing Financial Planning—A Complete Guide for Professionals,” written by a noted university professor. Ted also co-authored the related instructor's guide for the book.

As a commitment to the profession, Ted has been a member of the Financial Planning Association of Michigan (formerly Institute of Certified Financial Planners) for over 25 years.  He has served over 15 years on the Board of Directors, holding various positions including education coordinator, sponsorship coordinator, annual symposium chairman, President, and Chairman of the Board.

Ted is an avid golfer and plays on a team in the Michigan Publinx Golf Association.  He is also a member of Red Run Golf Club in Birmingham, Michigan.  When not golfing, he enjoys racquetball, pickleball, and spending time with his two sons and dog.

Frank S. Arvai CPA, PFS, CFP®

Frank S. Arvai is the past President and founder of Mutual Fund Management Co. (MFMC), established in 1992—that merged with WMA in 2018.

Frank has more than 30 years of experience that includes work specializing in tax, accounting, financial planning, and investment management. Since MFMC’s inception, Bill Mack and WMA maintained a strategic alliance with Frank and MFMC—working with Frank to provide financial planning and investment management services to MFMC and WMA clients.

Frank received a BBA from Western Michigan University in 1970 and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM designation from The College of Financial Planning in Denver in 1983. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants—and is on the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Financial Planning Committee—having previously served as Chairman. Frank has served as the President and Chairman of the Board of the Michigan ICFP and the FPA of Michigan.

Kenneth Klegon CFP®

Kenneth Klegon, CFP® has been providing independent, objective financial planning services to individuals, businesses and organizations since founding his own financial advisory firm in Lansing in 1983. Ken joined WMA in 2018, and will serve on the firm’s Investment Committee, in addition to working with the financial planning team.

Ken graduated from Michigan State University and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner. He is a past President and long-time Board member of what is currently the Financial Planning Association of Michigan, and has spoken to professional and lay groups on a variety of financial, investment and retirement planning topics.  For ten years he was a regular guest on Michigan State University's WKAR Radio and has been frequently interviewed and quoted in national and state publications including The Wall Street Journal, USA TODAY, Money Magazine, Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, and the Lansing State Journal.

Additionally, Ken has served on Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees for various statewide and local voluntary and charitable organizations, and has been an instructor in The High School Financial Planning Program sponsored by the College for Financial Planning.  In 1990 he was recognized by WLNS-television in Lansing as a Hometown Hero for initiating a program of free financial counseling for individuals in crisis.

James Duronio MSF, CAIA, CIMA®, AIFA

Jim is an Investment Advisor Representative of William Mack & Assoc., Inc. (WMA). Jim is a 30+year veteran in the investment management industry. He started his career at Manufacturers Bank (now Comerica) in Detroit, Michigan working with institutional accounts including 401(k) accounts and other ERISA related plans. Jim received his Bachelors degree in Economics from Oakland University and his Masters Degree in Finance with Distinction from Walsh College. He is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) in association with the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA).

Over the years, Jim has honed his skills in investment management and consulting for large institutional relationships and gradually applied his expertise to handling private wealth accounts as the industry evolved due to changing demographics. Jim has managed portfolios through many market cycles and some historically difficult periods. He has also helped manage and consult on multi-million dollar and billion-dollar relationships.

On a more personal level, Jim and his wife are parents of triplet daughters, and they enjoy spending time with family. Jim is also an avid pickleball player.

Linda Smith CFP®, NSSA®

Linda Smith, CFP®, NSSA® is one of the firm’s financial planners. Linda is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner and a Certified Social Security Consultant. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from Walsh College in Troy, Michigan. Linda is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Interestingly, Linda and her husband hired Bill Mack as their personal financial planner in 1986, while she was working as the Assistant Controller for McDonnell Douglas Capital. Having remained clients throughout the years and after taking a break to raise their three children, Linda joined the firm in 2005. In her spare time, Linda enjoys taking trips and spending time with her family.

Jennie Spurlock CFP®

Jennie Spurlock, CFP® is one of the firm's financial planners. She earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. Jennie is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner.

Jennie has been working full-time in the financial planning industry since 2014 and she enjoys working with clients in all phases of life and helping them to achieve financial success at each stage.

Born and raised in Texas, Jennie enjoys traveling, reading, and most importantly, spending time with her loved ones.

Deanna Bingley FPQP®

Deanna Bingley, FPQP® is the firms senior associate financial planner, and assists other financial planning team members in advising clients in the areas of investment and retirement planning, as well as cash flow analysis. Deanna is also a member of the firm's Investment Committee.

She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from Walsh College. Deanna also earned her Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional designation through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.

Deanna is currently working towards her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification. Having initially joined the firm over 30 years ago, Deanna enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her three children.

TJ Mack FPQP®

TJ Mack,  FPQP® is one of the firm's associate financial planners, and assists other financial planning team members in advising clients in the areas of investment and retirement planning, as well as cash flow analysis. TJ is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, serving as the committee’s Research Analyst.

TJ enjoys working with the younger generation to help them identify and achieve their longer-term goals—while helping to relieve the financial stress that comes with being a young adult just starting out.

He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and Economics at Western Michigan University. In addition, TJ earned his Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional designation through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.

He is currently working towards his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM. TJ enjoys an active lifestyle in Michigan.

Brendan Bugenski CFP®

Brendan Bugenski, CFP® is one of the firm's financial planners and advises clients in the areas of investment and retirement planning, as well as cash flow analysis. He earned his Bachelor's degree in finance from Michigan State University, where he completed his CFP® education and was a member of the Wealth Management Association.  Brendan is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner.

When not working, he enjoys exercising, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

Angela Bomber CRPC®

Angela Bomber, CRPC® is one of the firm's associate financial planners and assists other financial planning team members in advising clients in the areas of investment and retirement planning, as well as cash flow analysis.

She earned her Bachelor of Business Management from American Public University. Angela also earned her Chartered Retirement Planner Counselor designation through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.

Angela completed her CFP® education and is currently working towards her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Angela has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry supporting advisors and servicing clients.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, dog and family.

Chelsea Chapman

Chelsea comes to WMA as a financial paraplanner with nearly a decade of experience in Wealth Management. Her work includes analyzing client needs and assisting the WMA financial planning team with research and special projects. Prior to joining WMA, Chelsea supported the operational needs of over 400 Morgan Stanley employees across Greater Michigan and Northern Ohio.

Chelsea lives with her dog Benson in St Clair Shores. She enjoys boating, golfing, attending live music events, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
